Famous by Sue Moxley - SuedeFX 29

Dark silver suede

The last of my 'old style' Sue Moxley Famous polishes

Suede Finish - Shade

Suede Finish - Sunlight

With Topcoat - Shade

29 is a dark silver grey suede finish polish.  The main polish colour is dark grey with masses of more silvery speckles.  Again I've shown this with a coat of topcoat to bring out the speckles

Swatch shown is 2 coats, with and without topcoat.

I don't have a lot of suede finish polishes but I do like them, I like the suede finish, I find it more pleasing than a pure matte, almost lush and I love the speckled effect finish that is really bought out by topcoat.

Famous by Sue Moxley - SuedeFX 26

Pinky brown suede finish

I have a couple more Sue Moxley's to show you and then my collection is done.  Until the new ones arrive that I ordered from her website this week arrive - d'oh.

They've changed the bottles so it'll be interesting to see if the quality is the same.

2 coats without topcoat

With Topcoat

The imaginatively named 26 is a brownish warm rose gold suede finish polish.  There's masses of silver speckles which gives it a mottled finish out of the bottle.

Add a coat of topcoat and the shimmer comes alive.  I think this one I prefer with the original finish.

Sue Moxely Famous - Scarlet Sparkle

Glowing red foil shimmer

Another Famous by Sue Moxley polish...

Hmmm - Who knows why I only took one picture of this glorious polish on my nails?!

Scarlet Sparkle is a deep red shimmer with red and gold flaky shimmer.  It's definitely got that lit from within glow too.  Yummy...

I know this isn't the most unique of colours but it's a lovely shade, done well.

Swatch shown is 2 coats, no top coat as usual.

Sue Moxley - Purple Dazzle

Purple foil shimmer

Sue Moxley's Famous line used to be sold in Superdrug but I'm not sure if they still carry it, my local Superdrug certainly doesn't.  Also I used to source some at the discount store TJ Hughes till they disappeared from down south, sniff (Eastbourne excepted)

I can't recall whether this was a Superdrug or TJHughes purchase, IIRC they retail at £5 but there were often multi-buy offers on.

Purple Dazzle is a gorgeous purple with masses of foily shimmer.  The foil shimmer is pink, purple and maybe a little pale gold from what I can make out.  Either way it's lush and nicely visible.

Application and the brush are good and this swatch is 2 coats with no top coat.

I've got a sweet little collection of Sue Moxley's and they've mostly been great, maybe she should give up on the other cosmetics and just concentrate on the polish!

Famous by Sue Moxley 3

Another Sue Moxley, I had such a good experience with the previous ones that I snapped up some more when I spotted them on sale for £2 each in TJ Hughes.

Shade

Sun

No 3 (gggrrggh, no names) is an orangey coral with fine silver/pink shimmer
This is 3 coats, but I still have some vnl

And surprising this works better with my skintone than I expected

Sue Moxley Suede Fx 30

The last of my Sue Moxleys is SuedeFx 30

This is my first 'suede' polish - the recent spate of suedes from OPI and Zoya are pretty spenny over here in the UK and I hadn't seen any cheapie versions.

So Fx 30 is a blue grey suede finish with silver shimmer - just gorgeous...

;

This was two coats, it was a bit tricky to apply, both the brush and polish were a bit gloopy...

From the pictures I've seen this looks to be similar to OPI Suede - thoughts?

Then I tried topcoat over my first 2 fingers and left 2 matte - and it's just as lovely with topcoat!

Overall a big win - formula wasn't the best but lovely colour and finish - I'm sold.

Sue Moxley 14

Sorry - another weeks break - but this time I have a good excuse, it was my birthday(!) and my beloved was working in Amsterdam and so I headed over to join him for a celebratory weekend. The weather was bitterly cold and very wintery but we hired bikes, bought hats & gloves and cycled round like locals. We also found great places to eat and I may have picked up a couple of bottles of polish to share with you all.

But for now, back to the regular programming...

The second Sue Moxley I picked is the aptly named 14, well who knows maybe the number 14 is a slightly frosty peacock green. It obviously is in Sue's world!

This is a little too 'frosty' for me, but it's a lush colour and best of all qualifies as a one-coat-wonder. I did two out of habit but if you were in a rush, one would work fine which redeems the slight frostiness for me

Overall good application, nice shade, just let down slightly by the frostiness.

Famous by Sue Moxley no11

Gah, another week without posting, the house project, now thankfully in it's final stages is still eating up my free time.

Sue Moxley is a make-up artist, I can't say I'm particularly up on make-up artists so I've never heard of her, have you?

She has a range of makeup called Famous by Sue Moxley which I'm pretty sure is unique to Superdrug. I've perused the range in the past but as often in Superdrug the display was a bit of a state and while some of the eyeshadows looked interesting the prices were quite high. And there was no nail polish so how interested could I be?!

But revisiting the range I found they'd introduced a small but interesting range of nail polish - hooray! So I snapped up a few to try.

Let's look at the regular polish first, called Advanced Performance Nail Colour - this is 11 - no names, how dull.

Vibrant Purple creme, this is three coats, but I probably could've done two. It's nothing unique but a pretty colour and very shiny!
