This week I'd thought I'd share some of my recent-ish haul from Amsterdam, kicking off with Hema polishes.

Hema is a department store chain in the Netherlands that primarily sells cheap housewares and clothing - they're great stores and there are several just in Amsterdam. They also sell cosmetics including nail polish and of course it would be rude not to pick any up!

So here is the first one which doesn't seem to have a name. This is from the Hema Brilliant range which has Diamond Powder!

Bottle shot in an attempt to show the shimmer/glitter

I don't usually go for pale colours but something in this unusual colour called to me.

I'd describe it as lilac tinged grey/silver shimmer with gold microglitter - which is a weird combination but somehow it still works.

This is 3 coats and I still have some vnl and it looks more lumpy in the pictures than I remember it was IRL.

In my book it's a soft, pretty colour - a hybrid cousin of Zoya Harley?

  1. It looks great. Does it need a lot of topcoat?

  2. @jaljen - Probably more than I put on here - it looks kinda lumpy and dull doesn't it?

  3. I have 2 Hemas and I am absolutely smitten by them. That is beautiful.

  4. i just put a hema on tonight! such fun colors!

  5. I love this varnish.
