SuperDry - Scrambler Green

Pale green creme

Another SuperDry from TK Maxx which only cost me £3

Scrambler Green is a light green creme, maybe a little pistachio leaning.

Application was good, swatches are 2 coats which was just about enough...

No idea what the name means, to me a scrambler is a motorbike, maybe it's different in the world of SuperDry...

Butter London - Brick Lane

Burnt orange shimmer

Sorry for the lack of post readers, I've been away on holiday - two weeks in Iceland which was brilliant, such amazing landscapes and natural beauty and masses of fun activities!

Anyhow back to the swatches...

Hmmm, bottle shot is kinda soft focus!

Brick Lane is a gorgeous rich burnt orange shimmer.  The shimmer is golden and complements the orange nicely.

Swatches shown are two coats, no top coat.

Brick Lane is also the name of the six piece mini collection - my first BL mini's and they're good, same format bottle just a little smaller and brush was still very workable.

Superdry - Blue Mercury

Intense mid blue crelly

I didn't know Superdry did cosmetics until I spotted this in TK Maxx but to be fair I've never been in a Superdry store (if such a thing exists).  God I sound old!

Anyhow, on to the polish...

Mercury Blue is a fabulous bright blue crelly.  The bottles are 10ml and there's a variety of different bottle overprinting styles available.

Application was good, the brush is regular style, ie not wide/flat.

Swatches shown are 3 coats, with no top coat.  Three coats is not great but it's such a great colour and shine I'm prepared to forgive it!

Anyone else tried Superdry polishes?  I picked mine up for a bargainous £2 in TK, I think the original retail was around £6.

Alessandro - Midnight Violet

Mid purple creme

Here's Midnight Violet from Alessandro's Summer of Love collection.

Midnight Violet is a mid-toned purple creme.  It's a mini sized bottle at only 5ml but actually this seems to be the most common Alessandro size so I don't know if they'd call it mini.

Application was good and these swatches are 2 coats, no top coat as usual.

Alessandro is a German brand, I have bought some on trips to Germany but pretty sure this one came from an internet order from a French private sale site!   I really like Alessandro products, their hand creams in particular are excellent, but they can be a little expensive at full retail. Thankfully thanks to the sale site this only cost me £1.20!

Golden Rose - Rich Color 34

Rich burgundy shimmer

Golden Rose Rich Color in 34 is a rich, shimmering plum/burgundy.

This was almost a one-coat wonder for me and the polish is marketed as a one-coat product, but these swatches are 2 coats for full depth of colour.

And the one-step maxi brush wasn't too bad at all.  I think I'm realising that not all wide or maxi brushes are terrible for me - although there is still a special place in hell for the MeMeMe maxi wide brushes!

Golden Rose - Paris 140

Deep grey/navy crelly

Another from my Istanbul haul...

140 is a greyed navy crelly, which applies both darker but slightly less grey than it looks in the bottle.

Application was great and these swatches are 3 coats, no top coat.

But look at that shine!  I can see the sky and the green bush outside my window reflected in the shine.

Golden Rose - Galaxy 14

Purple glitter sand finish

Back in February the Husband and I spent a long weekend in Istanbul for my Birthday.  Despite the cold and snow I'd totally recommend it, fabulous city with so much to see.

On our last morning we did a bit of shopping and I managed to find a Golden Rose store where I picked up a few interesting polishes.

Here's the first of those....

Galaxy is a range of textured and glitter polishes

14  is a purple sand finish polish with some hexagonal and smaller glitter pieces in there, though they kinda get swallowed by the sand!

I used 2 coats and no top coat for these swatches as as you'd expect for a sand finish it dries pretty matte although there's a touch of satin gleam.

Deborah - Red Baroque 70

Red shimmer with holo glitter and bar glitter

As you can tell from that description there's a lot going on in this polish!

The base is a pink toned red shimmer but then there's a good scattering of fairly chunky holo glitter as well as some pretty random bar glitter too.  I'm not entirely sure it all comes together very well!

Swatches shown are two coats with no top coat and as you can see with all the additions it dries fairly bumpy.

Deborah is an Italian cosmetics brand that I picked up from a French private sale site.  The polishes were so cheap I picked up a few so expect to see some more (successful) polishes from this brand.

Nails Inc - Chancery Lane

Coral creme

The sun is out this morning, although no sign of our promised heatwave, I thought I'd share a bright summery coral from Nails Inc

Chancery Lane is a nicely pigmented orange/coral creme.  Application as with most Nails Inc cremes was fantastic and the swatches shown are two coats, no top coat.

There's also a blue beaded nails inc with the name Chancery Lane - boy, it bugs me when they re-use the name for a new polish!

There doesn't seem to be a lot of love for the coral variant on the web which usually means this was a QVC exclusive....

What colour makes you think of summer?

A-England - Lady of the Lake

Dusky purple with holographic shimmer

I'm rather remiss for not sharing any A-England before now.  I have a small collection of about 20 of Adina's polishes and they're all stunning.

Lady of the Lake is from the first collection, The Mythicals, back in 2011.

It's a slightly dusty purple with lots of fine scattered holographic glitter.

Application was great, only needing two coats, at most!

Nails Inc - Clifford Street

Dusky purple creme with scattered fine gold glitter

Clifford Street was part of the Midas Touch and Gold Rush Collections (which might even be the same thing!).

It's a very dusky, grey toned purple, quite dark, which a fine gold shimmer scattered throughout.

Application was great, this polish is super opaque and the swatches show just one coat!

Kleancolor - Metallic Fuchsia

Foil finish fuchsia

My first Kleancolor on the blog, from my small collection of foil finish polishes from this US brand that I picked up somewhere random.

Metallic Fuchsia is a shimmer/foil finish cool, purple leaning fuchsia.

Swatches shown are 2 coats with no top coat.

I like the colour/finish but boy this polish has a super strong, chemical scent and takes forever to dry!
And to add insult to injury it stained my nails even with basecoat!

Probably why I've only swatched one of this collection so far!

Nocti - Pocket Change N27

Pale gold shimmer

Oh blimey, I really fell off the blogging wagon, not sure what happened but I'm back now!

I picked this Nocti up from ebay, back when any brand I'd not heard of would catch my eye.  I don't know much about them other than they're made by Art of Beauty (who make Zoya polishes) and they're old, maybe from 2007?

Pocket Change is a soft, pale, slightly pink toned gold shimmer

Swatches shown are 3 coats, it's a shimmer verging on frost and is pretty brushstrokey.

Also as with all yellow toned colours not hugely flattering with my skintone.
