MUA - Mystical Glitter Nails Jellyfish

Shimmery plum glass fleck finish

Another of the oddly named Mystical Glitter range from MUA (available from Superdrug in the UK)

To me Jellyfish is a shimmery plum polish with a glass fleck finish, not a trace of glitter!

Swatch shown is 3 coats and I still have pretty visible vnl in the sunlight I just couldn't face doing more coats.

This polish cost me £3 from Superdrug.  The bottles are an odd size, 6.8ml

Alessandro - Strawberry Mint

Creamy scented pink creme

Strawberry Mint is part of a special Ice Cream Bar themed collection of polish and hand cream from Alessandro from 2012.  All the polishes are scented.

Strawberry Mint is a lovely creamy pink colour with a lovely shiny finish, but unfortunately it's not all good news with this polish.

This polish had a very odd formula, it was very opaque but also weirdly streaky

I ended up with 3 coats on this swatch to get opaqueness

As the scent? It smells of strawberry mint! To be fair,  more strawberry than mint and it's definitely a strawberry ice-cream smell than actual strawberries but not unpleasant.

Mavala - Dakar

Warm rose pink shimmer

Mavala Dakar is an warm deepish rose pearl/shimmer that leans a little brown.  This is a rather traditional, almost old-fashioned colour but I still think it looks nice

For their core colours Mavala label the bottle either Cream or Pearl, a fairly binary categorisation! although oddly not on the special edition colours like Cedar Green.

Mavala name their core colours after cities around the world, Dakar is the capital of Senegal in Africa and for me is most well known for the Paris-Dakar rally, an off-road endurance race.

Swatch shown is 3 coats with no top coat.  Application was good, the tiny Mavala bottles and brushes don't cause me any problems.

Leighton Denny - Big Bang

Black/silver glitter bomb

Apologies for the lack of posts, I've been away on holiday in Tenerife with the family for a week and then totally caught up with wedding preparations.  I'm not sure I've mentioned before but I'm getting married in 20 days time(!), the todo list is finally getting shorter but there's still lots to do.

The Leighton Denny site says Big Bang is black & silver but the base colour to me looks like a sheer dark blue and I think there's some fine turquoise glitter in there too....

And in the sunlight the bottle and the polish definitely has a purple tinge to it.

But it's pretty, if rather messy.  Any polish on my fingers was super tricky to clean up as you can see from my rather messy swatch pictures.

Swatch is 2 coats.

The polish dries kinda matt so I added topcoat to make it sing.

Also, unlike other Leighton Dennys this one has a very strong chemical smell, a consequence of the glitter I presume.

And I love the name, this totally looks like the ultimate cosmic explosion.

L.A. Colors - Jungle Fever

Teal creme

L.A. Colors Jungle Fever is a fairly standard but well executed dark teal creme.

Swatch shown is 2 coats with no top coat and this polish has a very shiny finish.

This had great application & finish, it's one of those creme polishes that has a texture/finish that's reminiscent of enamel paint.

Nails Inc - Lilse Street

Squishy peach creme

Nails inc Lilse Street is a squishy peach creme

Swatch shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

There is still some vnl but for a jellyish, squishy polish I think that's ok.  And it's a super summery colour and finish.

Alessandro - Marvelicious Dream

Black with masses of gold flaky glitter

Marvelicious is a sheerish black base packed with fine gold glitter and somehow that makes it look almost greenish!

I think this is a fab combination of polish/glitter.

Swatch shown is 2 coats with no top coat.

An unexpected win for me!
